These terms cover your use of Afterstream (afterstream.cc, "the app", "we"), a video editing tool that cuts long YouTube videos, finished livestreams and Twitch VODs into vertical Shorts. By logging in you agree to them. How the app handles your information is in the Privacy Policy.
What the app does
You add a link to a video. The app downloads it, transcribes its audio, picks moments worth a Short, and renders them as vertical clips with captions, cut and reframed from the video itself. AI models (Claude, Gemini or GPT) read only the transcript's text, to pick the moments and write titles, descriptions and tags. The app doesn't generate or alter images, faces, bodies or voices. If you connect a YouTube channel for publishing, the app uploads the Shorts you choose to it.
Access
The app is invite-only: the operator gives you an access code. Keep it to yourself; whoever has it can use your account. The operator can remove an account or take the app down at any time.
Your content
Only add videos you own or have the right to edit and republish, such as your own streams. You keep all rights to your videos and to the Shorts made from them; you give us only what we need to process them for you. You're responsible for what you publish, and for following the YouTube Terms of Service and your platforms' rules.
What you may not do
- Use the app for sexual content of anyone without their consent, sexual content involving minors, or intimate imagery of a real person, whether real or made to look real (AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery).
- Make Shorts from other people's videos without their permission, or otherwise infringe anyone's rights.
- Use the app to harass, impersonate or deceive anyone, or for anything illegal.
- Try to get into other people's accounts or data, overload the app, or get around its limits.
Breaking these rules gets the account removed, with its links and Shorts.
YouTube
Afterstream uses the YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube account you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of your data is in the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect YouTube in the app at any time, which revokes its access with Google.
No warranty
The app is provided as it is, without warranties. Renders can fail or come out wrong, and files are deleted after the time the operator sets, so keep your own copies of what matters. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss from using the app.
Changes
If we change these terms we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
